Scientific Backgrounders
On a regular basis, the Natural Products Association's department of Science and Quality Assurance together with the Committee on Product and Label Integrity (ComPLI) develop positions, referred to as "Backgrounders," on key topics. Often the subject of these papers may be a particular product or ingredient that is widely used and thus of great interest to both industry and consumer. Once a position is drafted, it is presented to the Natural Products Association Board of Directors for approval or modification. Positions on any given topic are reviewed and updated every two years or when need dictates.
